 Online Learning Propelled by Constructivism

The article  summarizes the idea of how did online learning   that follows the constructivist approach renew and how it is changing from the past years  until now which may lead to the democratization in the education that is not previously seen. and to show how is this approach is essential nowadays in online learning and teaching. and that  students should be lifelong learners that use meta cognitive skills. and that they have to collaborate with peers and teachers  and collect information.

Constructivists want to develop  independent learners that have  learning skills  to construct knowledge . Students are taught how to learn. Students have responsibility for their  own learning by active participation. and The teacher roles shift  from content provider to content facilitator and guides.

also there was contrasting between the traditional approach and the constructivism approach. where distance education before lack  technological tools like nowadays where interaction increased between teachers and students.

so finally , we agreed that this  technological growth reflect  the constructivist approach as it show different opportunities for online pedagogy. As stated by Reid-Martinez, 2006, that show three factors that define the new  pedagogy: community development,  structure—the technological ability , and collaborative opportunities for shared knowledge and wisdom building

So if i became a teacher I will try to work on different philosophies to walk with  students' need taking into consideration active learning and the  engagement of the students.
